Hi my fellow Indian brothers/sisters, a very Happy Republic Day! Since today it was an off, I thought to put my day to a better use. So, I am back with a new nail-art design, which I would like to be called as Checkered/Plaid pattern. 😀

So, to make this design, you would need to have two nail polishes (one in darker color and second in lighter color) of the same color family. I mean if you are talking about red color, you would need a tint (lighter) and a shade (darker) of the red color. Hope you got my point! Then, you will require nail paints for base coat and top-coat; and one white nail paint/nail-pen along with a thin brush.

To begin with, apply base coat on all nails. Then, apply lighter colored nail-polish on all nails.

After that, take darker colored nail paint and draw one vertical line on each nail. (Try to draw them at random places).

Now, draw one horizontal line on each nail with the same nail-paint, also placing them randomly.

Take white nail-paint. Now you need a very thin brush (e.g. size 000, usually used in fabric painting). Now, draw two vertical lines around the darker colored lines. And repeat the procedure with horizontal lines too.

Let it dry completely and seal it with transparent top-coat.

Ta da! That’s it. You will be looking totally IN with this check/plaid design on your nails. You know these days people are going crazy with having checkered prints on their clothing. But, guess what??? We are one step ahead, with our checkered nails. 🙂

So, how did you find it? Try experimenting with other colors too. I honestly felt that I should have used some other brighter colors, as brown color never ever do anything for my skin. 🙁 But, you go ahead and play the design with your choice of colors. 🙂
